You will receive your personal university login credentials at the beginning of your studies or employment along with your university ID card. Please keep these details safe and do not share them with anyone. They serve as login credentials and authentication for all online services of the Freiburg University of Music.
Your username (or university abbreviation) is constructed from your real name.
Usually, it consists of the beginning of your first and last name. The username
of our namesake Heinrich Glarean would be heigla
. For faculty and staff, the
abbreviation may consist only of the last name.
With your university account, you will also receive an email address that allows
you to send and receive emails via the university's mail
server. The addresses follow this pattern:
<Initial>.<Lastname>@mh-freiburg.de
, for example h.glarean@mh-freiburg.de
.
The password you receive along with your username and email address applies to all university services.
Please change the password you received with your university account to one of your own choice. Follow the instructions in the section Change Password.
You can change your password in the settings of the mail server. Navigate to Password in the Settings.
If you no longer remember your password, your browser may have saved the password for the mail server. Then you can set a new password here.
If your password is permanently lost, you can set a new one. However, this is only possible in person at the university and upon presentation of your university ID card. You must also know your username.
To set a new password, please go to the self-service station or the registration terminal in the university foyer. Here, open the browser tab NEW PASSWORD. Now enter your username and enter a new password in the provided field. Pay attention to the password security notice. Finally, you must confirm the password change at the reception desk within 30 minutes upon presentation of your university ID card. Only then is your new password valid – for all university services.
