Glarean is the teaching and learning platform of the University of Music Freiburg. It is based on the free software platform Ilias, which is used at numerous educational institutions, including in Freiburg at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität and the Pädagogische Hochschule.
To log in to Glarean, use the username and password of your university account.
Help for the full range of platform features can be found first in the official
manual. Otherwise, an internet search
using the keyword ilias returns many good results.
The most important areas in Glarean are your personal dashboard and the home page. The dashboard shows the current status of your group and course memberships and is the quickest way to access your courses. Via the home page you can reach all other areas of Glarean, such as the public area or the teaching area.
At the very top of the home page you will also find periodic announcements and news about the platform and digital teaching at the university.
In the teaching area you will find teaching and learning materials that you can use alongside courses, across courses, or for self-study. These are provided by faculty of the university.
Please contact e-learning@mh-freiburg.de if you would like to add courses and materials to the public area or the shared teaching materials.
